We are so glad to have you and your family as a part of Josie’s ECEAP. On this page you will find links to some of, what we feel, are the most important aspects of our program. In addition, we have included links to items and information you may need to access often. If at any time you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the appropriate staff. You can find our contact information here.

Attendance Policy

Good attendance is a VERY important part of getting your child ready for Kindergarten.

By setting good attendance habits in preschool, you will be setting your child up for continuing these habits when they enter kindergarten and beyond. If children are regularly absent, they may not be fully prepared for school.  It’s difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if students are frequently absent.

ECEAP Performance Standards state that children need to be in attendance 85% of the scheduled time. If your child’s attendance falls below an 85% average for the month, your Family Support Specialist will contact you to determine the cause and to see if there is any way we can help to improve your child’s attendance. 🚩If attendance does not improve, your child could be in jeopardy of losing their spot.🚩

As an example, the month of October has 18 scheduled class days. To stay ABOVE 85% attendance, your child may miss NO more than 2 classes.

Children are to be signed in and out at the beginning and end of each classroom time using the ProCare app.
Please message ProCare if your child will be absent. If we do not hear from you within the first hour of school, we will contact you about your child’s absence.

Is My Child Too Sick for School?

If your child has had the following symptoms within 24 hours, please keep him or her at home. If your child displays any of these symptoms at school, you will be called to pick him/her up. Please make every effort to be here as soon as possible after we call or have back up care lined up. It is important to make sure that we always have the most recent phone numbers on file. If your child experiences any of these symptoms or is sent home due to any of these symptoms, he/she must be symptom free for 24 hours without medication in order to return to school.

We understand that children will get colds and do not expect them to stay home every time they get a cold. Please keep them at home if they have a cold accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100.4° or higher
  • Vomiting (2 or more times)
  • Diarrhea without reason
  • Unable to participate in normal activities
  • Severe colds
